15 years ago, new born

The not-so-quite room was filled with a cry, the dark sky screaming with it, as doors banged on their hinges, and windows screeched in reply, no one was sleeping in the early hours, the moon hidden in a rage of clouds. All that showed was a faint, ghostly light, a haze through the mist and clouds “Come quick” The midwife gasped, the man turned his head from the breeze of the open window to face her, his dark glistening hair, shadowing his eyes, droplets of water spraying through the window behind him meant nothing to him. “Why do you disturb me” he demanded, in an even, emotionless voice “Its River, it’s your wife” the midwife shook, terrified of what would happen to her, for being the one to deliver the dark, dark news. The man curled his nose in distaste, his dark eyes uncaring as he strode down the corridor to the only room in shadowed house that what bright, with a happier atmosphere, the man did not even blink as he stepped out of the corridor, away from the black-painted walls and in to the bright, sunny yellow of the room before him, he strode to the bed, and glared back at his wife’s open, unstaring eyes, the spark of life gone from them “The triplets” the midwife whispered “What am I to do with them?” She was shaking with her fear “Take them from my site” He spat “And the third... The still born?” She whispered weakly “throw it in the garbage for all I care” He snapped, and strode away from the room, leaving the shaking women in charge of his gentle, soft children, no more the minutes old.
